The congregation of New Lowell United Church invites you to celebrate with them for their 135th anniversary of the site of a Christian Church.
The occasion is June 8 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Alf Dumont and Rev. Tony Rennett presiding.
You will hear the joyful voices of the Creemore United Church Pastoral Choir during the service and the day will finish with a delicious light lunch following the worship.
At this time all of the members of New Lowell United Church sincerely thank the cemetery board for their outstanding care of our church and cemetery property. To add to this great landscaping, the Stewards along with the Garden of Prestige (Tim Meijs) have made the outside landscaping so welcoming.
Among the many improvements, they have provided a lovely pathway with handrail going to the new Sunnidale Branch of the Clearview Public Library from the Church parking lot. This will be put to good use as June 14 you are invited to attend the official opening of this wonderful new library.
A big pat on the back to the Brentwood Horticultural Society for getting the landscaping done at the new library site. This was a big task but it looks so refreshing to see it all take shape.
The formal opening ceremonies will start at 1:30 p.m. on June 14 with refreshments and entertainment to follow. Come and join in the fun and remember the promise made by the co-chair person, Joyce Smith, that she will dance in the street at the opening of this facility. We are holding her to her word. Please accept this as your official invitation to this event. In case of inclement weather some of the entertainment and refreshments might be held at the Legion.
Congratulations go out to Laura Mariciak who won an award of excellence in her studies at Stayner Collegiate.
On Thurs., June 5 the final story hour session will be held at the Sunnidale Branch Library. All of our little friends will be encouraged to continue coming to the library and borrowing their favourite books during the summer. The Story Hour lady will see you in the fall.
Noah and his animal friends on the Ark are holding a Vacation Bible School Aug. 12-14 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the New Lowell United Church. All school age children are welcome to attend. There are registration forms at the library or you can call Sandra at 424-6497 for further information.
Remember on Sunday mornings the Legion continues to hold their delicious breakfast.
The Seniors meet each Wednesday at 1:30 pm at the Legion for an afternoon of euchre. You are welcome to attend.
